Weight training is one of the most important things a woman can do in midlife. Progressive resistance training using dumbbells, kettlebells, resistance bands, TRX, and weighted squats builds muscle, protects bone density, and supports insulin sensitivity in ways cardio alone cannot. Cardio Fusion is layered in for heart health and mood without pushing your nervous system into overdrive.

Shanae Smith

Before founding Oasis Integrated Wellness Solutions, Shanae spent 19 years in California city government, serving as City Clerk, Project Manager, Grant Writer and Administrator, and Executive Assistant to a City Manager. She managed $22 million in public funding during that time. That background is not a footnote. It is why she knows how to build programs that are organized, accountable, and built to last.
She also built MAX-40 Fitness, a BBB-accredited personal training and nutrition coaching business where she directly coached hundreds of women. Nearly a decade of hands-on work taught her what actually moves the needle for women in midlife. Not theory. Real results with real people.
Her why runs deep. She lost her father at 49 and her mother at 61, both to preventable lifestyle causes. Those were not statistics. They were her parents, and their deaths became her north star. She trained as a Certified Functional Nutrition Counselor through the Functional Nutrition Alliance because she needed answers, not another certification to hang on the wall. The Midlife Bloom Method is the program she wished had existed for them. It brings together 19 years of systems thinking, nearly a decade of coaching experience, and functional nutrition knowledge into an approach designed specifically for women 40 and beyond. None of this would have happened without the love and steadiness of her husband Glenn, her partner of 29 years. She is the first to say so.
She is driven by mission, grounded in accountability, and absolutely certain that when women in midlife get the right support, everything changes.
